Count what fraction receive Karen, James and Frank in total:

since

Karen receives - \frac{1}{8},

James receives - \frac{1}{4}=\frac{2}{8},

Frank receives - \frac{3}{8},

then \frac{1}{8} +\frac{2}{8} +\frac{3}{8} =\frac{1+2+3}{8}=\frac{6}{8} =\frac{2\cdot 3}{2\cdot 4} =\frac{3}{4}.

All inheritance is the whole 1, then for Dan remains 1-\frac{3}{4} =\frac{4}{4} -\frac{3}{4} =\frac{4-3}{4} =\frac{1}{4}.

Answer: Dan receives one quarter of the inheritance.

The answer is  \frac{1}{4}

Explanation

\frac{1}{8}+\frac{1}{4}+\frac{3}{8}

=\frac{1}{8}+\frac{2}{8}+\frac{3}{8}

=\frac{6}{8}=\frac{3}{4}

1-\frac{3}{4}=\frac{1}{4}

A construction manager needs 12 workers to complete a building project in 54 days. Find in terms of T the number of workers need
ch4aika [34]

Answer:

<h3>2T/9</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

A construction manager needs 12 workers to complete a building project in 54 days, we can write;

12 workers = 54 days

T find the number of workers needed to complete the same project in T days, we will write;

x workers = T days

Divide both equations

12/x = 54/T

Cross multiply

12T = 54x

x = 12T/54

x = 2T/9

Hence the number of workers needed to complete the same project in T days is 2T/9 workers

liq [111]

Answer:

x = 16

Step-by-step explanation:

5 = 1/2(x) - 3

Add 3 to both sides.

8 = 1/2(x)

Rewrite for clarity.

1/2(x) = 8

x/2 = 8

Multiply both sides by 2.

x = 16.

Proof:

5 = 1/2(x) - 3

Substitute variable.

5 = 1/2(16) - 3

Multiply 1/2 and 16.

5 = 8 - 3

Subtract 3 from 8.

5 = 5
