Your calculator will tell you -2.
Actually this is the answer to: "To which power do we have to raise 10 to get 0.01?".

10⁻² = 0.01

Then you can easily agree that log(1000) will be 3.

Now hopefully you understand logs.

Note, this is assuming we're dealing with log₁₀. You can also have logs with another base. The principle is the same.

It took me 3 hours to visit my friend in Maine, averaging a speed of 58 miles per hour. If it took me 15 minutes less to get bac
mariarad [96]

Answer:

The average speed coming home was 63.27 miles per hour

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Let's review the information given to us to answer the question correctly:

Speed from home to Maine = 58 miles per hour

Time of the first leg of the trip = 3 hours or 180 minutes

Time of the second leg of the trip = 15 minutes less = 180 - 15 = 165 minutes or 2 hours 45 minutes

2. What was my average speed coming home?

Let's calculate the distance from home to Maine, this way:

Speed = Distance/Time

Distance = Speed * Time

Distance = 58 * 3 = 174 miles

Now, let's calculate the speed of the second leg, as follows:

Speed = Distance/Time

2 hours 45 minutes = 2.75

Speed = 174/2.75

Speed = 63.27 miles per hour

A ramp has a horizontal distance of 10 feet and a vertical rise of 3 feet. Find the length of the ramp. Round to the nearest ten
Tatiana [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Tye length of the ramp can be gotten using Pythagoras theorem.

Horizontal distance = 10ft.

Vertical distance = 3ft

Length of the ramp² = 10²+3²

Length of the ramp² = 100+9

Length of the ramp² = 109

L² = 109

L =√109

L = 10.44ft

Hence the length of the ramp is 10.4ft to the nearest tenth
