Desert climate develop when the rate of evaporation is extremely higher than the rate of precipitation. This means that the moisture content would be very low in most of the times of the year. Hence, in the long run, the climate will become semi-arid to arid.
On the other hand, temperate climates reflects the conditons ofmoderate rainfall that spreads across the year or most time of the year. Usually, temperate climate has sporadic drought, mild to warm summers and cool to cold winters. These conditions are enough supporting to produce grasslands, or steppe.
