Based on the scenario being described within the question it can be said that one way of doing this would be to avoid driving by McDonald's whenever you can and instead drive past another fast food chain like Wendy's or Popeyes and give ask the student, "Would you like to stop and get something to eat?". This would provide an alternative SD which would take the students mind off of Mcdonalds.
