To release pain, you can take deep breaths in until you can't breathe anymore in and then breath out until you can't breathe out anymore and then repeat this several times. This will always calm you down. If this doesn't work, you can find creative things to do to get the thought out because when you focus on something other than your pain, it will go away. You can do things as draw, paint, craft, listen to music, watch movies, or even read something.
