P=12T

Q=66T

-----------

Toys added to each bag:

P=12T+nT

Q=66T+nT

Therefore, 66T+nT=3(12T+nT)

------------

66T+nT=36T+3nT

T(66+n)=T(36+3n)

66+n=36+3n

3n-n=66-36

2n=30

Therefore, n=30/2=15

Get this right to earn 100+ points (IM SERIOUS)
USPshnik [31]

Answer:

A. x = 2y

64x + 132y = 1040

B. adult ticket = $8

student ticket = $4

Step-by-step explanation:

x = adult ticket

y = student ticket

A. an adult ticket is 2 times a student ticket, therefore, x = 2y

64(price of adult ticket) + 132(price of student ticket) = 1040

B. to find the price of each ticket, find the price of the student ticket (y) first since you have the adult ticket (x) by itself. Now you can substitute x = 2y into 64(x) + 132(y) = 1040. So you would get 128(y) + 132(y) = 1040. Next, combine both y to get 260(y) = 1040. Then divide both sides by 240 to get y which equals $4. Then you can easily find x which would equal $8

Suppose a railroad rail is 5 kilometers and it expands on a hot day by 20 centimeters in length. How many meters would the cente
lesya692 [45]
The length of the railroad is 1km and it expands 10cm. To solve this problem, you have to create a right triangle. You can do this by cutting everything in half. Your hypotenuse will be 1/2km + 5cm, one of the legs will be 1/2km. To make everything simple, I converted everything into meters. So you will have 500m + .05m as the hypotenuse and 500m as one of the legs. Use the Pythagorean theorem to solve for the other leg. Do not round your answer. My teacher emailed me a hint to answering the question. She cahnged everything to meters.

use Pythagoras theorem to solve for the other leg. that is your answer. Your teacher spelled it out for you.
