Arron just paid $7.40 for a new pair of sunglasses. His father told him that prices were different 10 years ago. Then his grandf

ather told him that 20 years ago, prices were even better. Arron did some research and found that the prices did change, but not by much. Ten years ago, the average price for a generic pair of sunglasses was $6.80, and 20 years ago it was $6.20. 1) Describe a possible arithmetic relationship between the decade and the price in that decade. Represent the relationship with a table, an explicit formula, and a graph. Describe the characteristics of each. 2) Describe a possible geometric relationship between the decade and the price in that decade. Represent the relationship with a table, explicit formula, and a graph. Describe the characteristics of each.

Suppose that 5 cards are drawn from a well-shuffled deck of 52 cards. What is the probability that all 5 are not black?
lions [1.4K]
Here's the way I see it:  5 cards are drawn, one by one, without replacement.  Half (or 26) of the original deck are black and half (26) are white.

P(5 are not black) = P(5 are red)

P(5 are not black) = P(first card is red) * P(second card is red) * P(third card is red)*P(fourth card is red)*P(fifth card is red) =

(26/52) * (25/51) * (24/50) * (23/49) * (22/48) = 0.025   (answer)

We start with 52 cards.  We draw one, leaving 51 cards, 25 of which are red.  And so on.

Solve equation (n-1)(n+6)(n+5)=0
Vika [28.1K]
Answer:
1, -6 and -5

Explanation:
To solve the equation means to get the values of n which satisfy the given equation.
The equation given is:
(n-1) (n+6) (n+5) = 0
This equation will be true if any of the terms (brackets) is equal to zero.
This means that:
either n-1 = 0 .............> n = 1
or n + 6 = 0 ................> n = -6
or n + 5 = 0 ................> n = -5

Hope this helps :)
