The crusade started by King Philip II of France. He made alliance with King Richard I of England, and Frederick I, the Holy Roman Emperor, an ally of England. The main goal is to get the Holy Land of Jerusalem. But King Philip II also have another goal. Getting some parts of France, that are in England's control, while King Richard I is away. The European power didn't got Jerusalem from Saladin, the leader of Ayyubid Dynasty. Richard and Saladin met up, and signed a Treaty that Jerusalem is in control of Muslim's, but they can let unarmed Cristian pilgrims to enter. Previously, King Philip left Richard, and ailed to France, and got most of the land in France. King Richard found this, and he was shot by a crossbowman in a siege. The wound turned to Gangrene, and King Richard Passed away. His Successor was John of Lackland.
