I would think it's okay to move them. It's fine if the person has something supporting him/her in some type of way.
In resistance training, the one-repetition-maximum represents the amount of weight or resistance that can be moved only once. The result of it is used to know how much the weight is capable of lifting for one repetition across a range of exercises. 1RM testings required no special equipment needed, as the lifter is the one to test with free weights. It is also used to identify individual's maximum strength.
