The toddler is likely to learn and acquire something more in the zone or layer of proximal development if and only if the tasks given to them are more challenging or more difficult that their age can do. The are triggered to think harder to complete the task since it was common for to them to insist and push the things they wanted to have regardless if how hard it can be. Such as 5-year-old kid is given toys and books that are supposed for 7-10 years old. Or a 10-year old kid is assigned to do household chores that his older brother or sister has been doing.
