Explain the relationship between polypeptides and proteins .
Hatshy [7]

Peptide bonds, and proteins. Amino acids are the monomer building blocks of proteins. When two are joined together in a peptide bond, they form proteins.A polypeptide is amino acids that bond to each other one at a time to form a long chain held together by peptidebonds

.Polypeptides and proteins are natural and essential organic compounds of a cell. They are both composed of amino-acids. Amino-acids are naturally occurring compounds which link together to form peptides, polypeptides, and proteins. Each amino-acid contains one amine (-NH2) and one hydroxyl (-COOH) group, as well as a specific side chain (R group). The side chain group varies in size, shape, charge, and reactivity, and is therefore unique to each amino-acid. There are 20 types of monomeric amino-acids capable of linking together in different combinations, thus conferring polypeptides and proteins with a high diversity.

A polypeptide is a polymer with a defined sequence of amino-acids linked together through covalent peptide bonds. A peptide bond is the result of a condensation reaction between two amino-acids: the carboxyl group of one amino-acid reacts with the amino group of an adjacent amino-acid, releasing a molecule of water (H2O).

Proteins are structurally and functionally complex molecules. The term protein is used to describe the three-dimensional structure formed by the folding of one or more polypeptides. Proteins present four levels of structural organization, with the polypeptide being the primary structure. A protein has a secondary structure when polypeptide chains form α helices and β sheets.

What water property allows water molecules to bond together?
RUDIKE [14]

Answer:

Water has an amazing ability to adhere (stick) to itself and to other substances. The property of cohesion describes the ability of water molecules to be attracted to other water molecules, which allows water to be a "sticky" liquid.

In order to perceive forms and patterns from incoming stimuli, individuals utilize____.
4vir4ik [10]

Group of answer choices.

A. feature analysis

B. change blindness

C. selective attention

D. inattentional blindness

Answer:

A. feature analysis

Explanation:

Stimulus can be defined as an obvious change in either the chemical or physical structure of an organism' environment (either external or internal). Thus, all living organisms (both animals and plants) respond to changes in their environment and consequently, an appropriate response or reaction is made. Also, stimulus arising from within the organism is known as internal stimulus while those from its environment are known as the external stimulus.

In organisms, the specialized cells that detect stimulus are generally known as sensory receptors while a group of these receptors is referred to as sense organ. Therefore, the senses are necessary for behavior because stimuli must be sensed in order to respond.

Stimulus control can be defined as a phenomenon that arises when a living organism responds or behaves in the presence of a stimulus and in another way in the absence of a stimulus.

For example, opening the door of a microwave oven as soon as its timer beeps.

Example II; When your body touches a hot object, you quickly move away and feel some pain subsequently.

In order to perceive forms and patterns from incoming stimuli, individuals utilize feature analysis of the signals from the environment.
