A pedometer is a device, usually portable and electronic or electromechanical, that counts each step a person takes by detecting the motion of the person. It is mostly installed in a phone or a fit bit watch.

The use of pedometers has benefited people at high risk for type 2 diabetes because these people need plenty of exercise.

Pedometers can help track the amount of exercise one has done for a certain period. And if he or she needs more exercise it can tell that too adn also if they have achieved their goal or not.
