Rewrite the expression (x+3)(3x+8)-3X(x+3)

Multiply (x+3)(3x+8)      x times 3x =3x^2 then multiply x times 8 = 8x
                                 keep multiplying 3 times 3x =9x  then 3 times 8=24
                          then multiply the -3x(x+3)=  -3x^2-9x
your hole expression will look like this 3x^2+8x+9x+ 24-3x^2-9x

if you need to simplify you can do by adding or subtracting them.
for example you can add 8x+9x= 17x

The number of yards of fabric needed for Robs costume is (7/8+1/2+1 3/4)÷2. How does the amount of fabric needed for Robs costum
exis [7]

The amount of fabric needed for Jimmy's costume is not stated, we can only determine the amount needed for Rob's costume, which makes it impossible to compare the amounts needed for both of their costumes. If this omission was an error, then you can find the difference between these amounts if the amount needed for Jimmy's costume is stated explicitly.

Step-by-step explanation:

The number of yards of fabric needed for Robs costume is (7/8+1/2+1 3/4)÷2

Assuming 1 3/4 is a mixed fraction.

= (7/8 + 1/2 + 7/4) ÷ 2

= (7 + 4 + 2) ÷ (8 × 2)

= 13/16 yards

Suppose 2 yards of fabric is needed for Jimmy's costume, then comparing with Rob's yards, we see that Jimmy's costume requires (2 - 13/16 = 19/16) more yards than Rob's costume.

a) The average height of sunflowers in a field is 64 inches with a standard deviation of 3.5 inches. Describe a normal curve for
tresset_1 [31]
The values on the horizontal axis are:
at 0 = 64
at one standard deviation (lower, upper) = (60.5 , 67.5)
at two standard deviation (lower, upper) = (57 , 71)
at three standard deviation (lower, upper) = (53.5 , 74,5)

B. P(x > 71) = 1 - P(x < 71) = 1 - P[z < (71 - 64)/3.5] = 1 - P(z < 2) = 1 - 0.97725 = 0.02275
Therefore the no of plants taller than 71 inches will be approximately 0.02275 * 3000 = 68

7. What is the next fraction in each of the following patterns?
serious [3.7K]

Answer:

36/40, 47/101, 192

Step-by-step explanation:

(a)The numerator (top number of the fraction) is adding up by odd numbers in order.

From 1/40 to 4/40 you add 3, from 4/40 to 9/40 you add 5, from 9/40 to 16/40 you add 7, and from 16/40 to 25/40 you add 9.

The next number to add would logically be 11. So from 25/40 you would go to 36/40.

36/40 is your next fraction.

(b)

3+4=7,4+7=11,7+11=18,11+18=29,18+29=47

(c) 1*2=2,2*2=4,2*4=8,4*8=32,8*32=256,32*256=8,192

Olive walks at a rate of 4 miles per hour. She lives 2 miles from the news station. How long would it take her to walk home from
Montano1993 [528]
4/1 = 2/x...4 miles to 1 hr = 2 miles to x hrs
cross multiply because this is a proportion
(4)(x) = (1)(2)
4x = 2
x = 2/4 reduces to 1/2...so she can walk 2 miles in 1/2 hr (or 30 minutes)
