What is halfway between 2.4 and 2.5

Mathematics
1 answer:
jeyben [28]3 years ago
4 0

To find the halfway point you have to subtract 2.5 and 2.4 which equals 0.1 which is the distance between them

2.5-2.4= 0.1

Now divide by 2.

0.1/2= 0.05 which is halfway between them.

Now add 2.4+ 0.05=2.45 Which Is the result :)

2x^2+9x-35 factor or foil
notka56 [123]

You would need to facto 2x² + 9x - 35 to get (2x - 5)(x + 7).

We can find this first by dividing the 2x² into 2x and x, which we can put into the brackets:

(2x _ _)(x _ _)

Then we need to find two factors of -35 that have a difference of 9 when one is multiplied by 2, which gives us +7 and -5 as (7 × 2) - 5 = 14 - 5 = 9.

This gives our final answer as:

(2x - 5)(x + 7)

We cannot use foil on this expression as there are no brackets to expand.

I hope this helps!

The sum of two numbers is -10.5.
grandymaker [24]

Answer:

-5 and -5.5;

-12.5 and 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Two negative addends, can be added together to give -10.5.

For example:

(-5) + (-5.5) = -5 - 5.5 = -10.5

Also, it is possible for one of the addends to be negative while the other is positive, and their sum will give us -10.5.

For example:

The sum of -12.5 and 2 will give us -10.5.

We are adding a positive and a negative number here. As usual, we will subtract the smaller number from the bigger number, while the result will carry the sign of the bigger number, which in this case is negative sign.

Thus:

(-12.5) + (2) = -10.5
