\frac{3r}{4} =\frac{1}{8}

Cross multiply.
Note: \sf\frac{a}{b} = \frac{c}{d} \to ad=bc

Cross multiplying we get:

3r(8) = 4(1) \\ 24r = 4\\r = \frac{4}{24} \\\\r=\frac{1}{6}

I hope that helps :)

Multiplying both sides by 8, we see that 6r=1.  Dividing by 6, r=1/6.

A large school district in Connecticut wants to estimate the average SAT score of this year's graduating class using a 95% confi
forsale [732]

Answer:

[ 502.5, 517.5]

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Mean of the sample, µ = 510

Total sample size, n = 100

Standard deviation = 75

Confidence level = 95%

Now,

The interval for µ is given as:

⇒ µ ± z\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt n}

for 95% confidence level z value = 1.96

Thus,

The interval for µ

⇒ 510 ± 1.96\times\frac{75}{\sqrt{100}}

or

⇒ 510 ± 7.5

or

⇒ [ 510 - 7.5, 510 + 7.5 ]

or

⇒ [ 502.5, 517.5]

List possible rational zeroes of the function. 3x^5-8x^4+6x^2+7x-12.
spayn [35]
First list all the positive and negative factors of the constant term in the expression: ±(1,2,3,4,6,12) these will be the values for "p"

Second list all the positive and negative factors of the leading coefficient:
±(1,3) these will be the values for "q"

Now list all the possible values of \frac{p}{q} these will be the possible rational zeros of the polynomial function:
±(\frac{1}{1} , \frac{1}{3} , \frac{2}{1} , \frac{2}{3} , \frac{3}{1} , \frac{3}{3}, \frac{4}{1}  , \frac{4}{3} , \frac{6}{1} , \frac{6}{3} , \frac{12}{1} , \frac{12}{3})

these can be reduced to the following list:
±(1,\frac{1}{3}, 2, \frac{2}{3}, 3, 4, \frac{4}{3}, 6, 12

This list represents the possible rational zeros of the function. You can then use synthetic division to narrow down the actual roots of the function.

Evaluate.<br><br> 9!/7!<br><br> A.) 63<br> B.) 72<br> C.) 81
podryga [215]

ANSWER

B.) 72

EXPLANATION

Recall the expansion for the factorial notation:

n! = n \times (n - 1) \times (n - 2) \times ...3 \times 2 \times 1

We want to simplify

\frac{9!}{7!}

Let us expand the numerator up to 7! while maintaining the denominator.

\implies \: \frac{9 \times 8 \times 7!}{7!}

When we cancel out the common factors,we obtain:

\implies \: \frac{9 \times 8  \times 1}{1}

This simplifies to

\implies \: \frac{72}{1}  = 72

The correct answer is B.
