Answer:

the amino groups

Explanation:

Amino acids are monomers of proteins. They have two functional groups and are said to be bifunctional. These functional groups are:

>>>>>amino group (-NH₂)

>>>>>carboxyl group (-COOH)

Amino acids have a dipolar ion structure or zwitterion. It shows this structure in aqeous solutions.

It is the functional groups that accounts for the physical and chemical properties of amino acids.

Amino acids have the following physical properties:

>They have a crystalline nature

>Have high solubility with a high melting point

Amino acids are amphoteric in nature and it they react with both an acid and base.

These amino acids combines to form giant protein molecules.

Phosphorus has an atomic mass of 31 and an atomic number of 15, so the number of neutrons must be _______________.
Nikitich [7]
Remember this:

atomic mass= atomic number + number of neutrons

The atomic number (same thing as number of protons) in this case is 15. The atomic mass is 31.

So, we subtract 15 from 31 to find the number of neutrons.

31-15=16

16 neutrons!!!

The temperature of a system rises by 45°C during a heating process. Express this rise in temperature in Kelvin. (Round the final
postnew [5]

Answer:

45K

Explanation:

Rise in temperature = Final - initial temperature.

temperature in K = Temperature in Celsius + 273

for Celsius; T2 -T1 =45°C

for kelvin; T2+273 -(T1+273) = ?

                T2+273 -T1-273 =?

                T2-T1 = ?

               T2-T1 =45k

hence ΔT(K) = ΔT(°C) (temperature difference in Celsius is equal to temperature difference in kelvin)
