The area of a triangle is 15 square inches

Mathematics

Answer:

6 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for the area of a triangle is

Area = \frac{1}{2} (bh)

b - base

h - height

the first step is to add the information that we know into the formula.

We know the area = 15 inches^{2} and the height = 5 inches

15 in^{2} = \frac{1}{2} (b)(5)

if we had both the base and the height, the next step would be to multiply

b x h then half the answer to work out the area but as we already have the area (15in^{2}) we need to work in reverse.

15 x 2 = 30

what is 5 multiplied by to get 30?

5 x ? = 30

30 ÷ 5 = 6

∴ the base = 6inches

to check if our answer is correct, we can place these numbers into the formula

A = \frac{1}{2} (6)(5)

A = \frac{1}{2} (30)   (30 ÷ 2 = 15)

A = 15in^{2}

I hope this was helpful :-)

Answer:

C) 1/3

Step-by-step explanation:

First look at equation: 3x+y=1

re-write as y=mx+b

y=-3x+1

so the slope of this equation i s-3

so if a line is perpendicular to the above equation,

its slope will be reciprocal negative which is 1/3

Tanya's rotation maps point K(24, –15) to K'(–15, –24). Which describes the rotation? 90 degrees clockwise rotation 270 degrees
alexira [117]

Answer:

A. 90 degrees clockwise rotation

Step-by-step explanation:

Of we have a coordinate axis (x,y), if this axis is rotated 90° clock wide, the resulting coordinate of the pre-image will be the coordinate (y -x). Note that the coordinates was swapped and then the new y coordinate negated.

Given the coordinate K(24, -15). If we rotate this clockwisely, first we swap the coordinate axis to have (-15, 24)

Them we will negate the new y coordinate axis to have;

K'(-15, -24)

Therefore the correct answer is 90° clockwise rotation.
