The Mesozoic era was the phase during which the sunlight was blocked from reaching the Earth due to the dust after meteorite collision with Earth and the temperature of Earth fell significantly leading to extinction of several species.

Explanation:

The Mesozoic era is the name given to the period which started after the striking of the huge meteorite in the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico. It was a very huge meteorite whose traces can be see till date.

When the meteorite struck or collided with the Earth, the collision resulted in the formation of huge amount of suspended dust in the atmosphere. This dust prevailed in the atmosphere for several millions of years.

The huge amount of dust in the atmosphere blocked the sunlight from reaching the Earth. This lead to the global winter conditions on the Earth and also prevented the plants from undergoing photosynthesis.

Due to this, the carbon dioxide content increased to the significant level and this lead to the vanish of half of the living component of the Earth including the dinosaurs.

Thus, The Mesozoic era was the phase during which the sunlight was blocked from reaching the Earth due to the dust after meteorite collision with Earth and the temperature of Earth fell significantly leading to extinction of several species.

The Mesozoic Era began about 225 million years ago and ended about 66 million years ago, when an impact ( meteorite collision ) struck the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico and released energy equivalent to 100 million megatons of TNT. Global effects of that impact were massive earthquakes and the large quantities of dust that blocked incoming solar radiation. The atmosphere admitted much less sunlight and plants were not able to go through the process of photosynthesis. The Earth was in a state of continual darkness and temperatures dropped through the world, generating global winter conditions. This event resulted in extinction of over 50 % living at that time, including the dinosaurs.

in an exothermic chemical reaction the energy gained by the surroundings must be _______ the energy lost by the reaction
Yuliya22 [10]

Answer:

In an exothermic reaction the energy gained by the surroundings must be equal to the energy lost by the reaction.

Explanation:

Exothermic reactions occur by the loss of energy in the form of heat to the surroundings (apparatus and the system).

The heat gained can be quantitatively analysed and measured provided no product escapes the system and it is numerically equal to the amount of heat lost by the reaction.

How do you find the efficiency of a motorized machine given the work input and output?
Leya [2.2K]
The efficiency of a machine indicates how well its input energy is converted to useful output energy or work. It is a major factor in the usefulness of a machine and is the fraction or percentage of the output divided by the input.

According to the Law of Conservation of Energy, the total output energy or work must equal the total input energy. However, some of the input energy does not contribute to the output work and is lost to such things as friction and heat.

Examples of machine efficiency include a lever, automobile, and perpetual motion machine.

What is the formula for calculating density?
Sophie [7]
Density can be determined by the mass of an object and how much it takes up space (volume). It is represented by the formula D = M/V where D is the density in kg/m^3 or lb/ft^3, M is the mass in kg or lb and V is the volume in m^3 or ft^3. The answer would be A. For example, you are given the mass of an object of 40.5kg and a volume of 15m^3. Find its density.

D = M/V
D = (40.5 kg) / (15 m^3)
D = 27/10 or 2.7 kg/m^3

What type of wall would make the best soundproof for room?
algol [13]
It depends, How big is the room. If it was me i would put "High density foam pads" all over the walls in the room, and that would get rid of some sound but put Drywall, or Plasterboard behind the foam pads. That should hopefully get rid of the sound from outside the room, and stop any noise in the background, if your using a mic, for example, a Youtube channel, or Twitch treaming channel. Hope this helps. BYE!!
