Mario eats twice as many as Yolanda. If Yolanda eats 6 walnuts every day, how many walnuts does Mario eat in a week?

Mathematics

stepladder [879]3 years ago
8 0

let

x-------> walnuts that Mario eats in a week

y-------> walnuts that Yolanda eats in a week

we know that

x=2y-------> equation 1

y=6*7-------> y=42 walnuts

substitute the value of y in equation 1

so

x=2*42-----> x=84 walnuts

therefore

the answer is

Mario eat in a week 84 walnuts

Find the surface area of the composite solid and round to the nearest tenth. Explain your answer.
Orlov [11]
Well, notice the composite is really just 4 triangles atop sitting on top of 4 rectangles, and all of them area stacked up at the edges.

so, for the rectangle's sides,

front and back are two 6x3 rectangles

left and right are two 6x3 rectangles

the bottom part is a 6x6 rectangle

now, we don't include the 6x6 rectangle that's touching the triangles, because that's inside area, and is not SURFACE area, so we nevermind that one.

now, the triangles are just four triangles with a base of 6, and a height of 4, in red noted there.

so, just get the area of all those rectangles and the triangles, sum them up and that's the surface area of the composite,

\bf \stackrel{lateral~rectangles}{4(6\cdot 3)}~~+~~\stackrel{bottom~rectangle}{(6\cdot 6)}~~+~~\stackrel{triangles}{4\left( \cfrac{1}{2}(6)(4) \right)}

1/4 + 2/3. Can anybody help me solve this?

Answer:

11/12

Step-by-step explanation:

Multiply 1/4 times 3/3 and 2/3 times 4/4. That gives you 3/12 + 8/12. Add that together and you get 11/12

The function f(x) = –x2 + 60x – 116 models the monthly profit, in dollars, a shop makes for repairing windshields, where x is th
Sholpan [36]

Answer:

A. We factor the equation to get: -(x-25)^2+361 In the form a(x-h)^2+k, the vertex is (h, k), so the vertex is (25, 361).  This means that the studio makes the most profit from selling 25 memberships, and thus makes 361 dollars.

B. The x-intercepts are the values of x for which f(x) is 0.  This equation can be factored as (-a+6)(a-44)=0, with solutions 6 and 44.  Therefore, by selling either 6 memberships or 44 memberships, the studio breaks even, neither making nor losing money.

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x)=−(x2−60x+900−900)−116

f(x)=−(x−30)2+784

Maximum Profit=784

Vertex is (30, 784)

maximum profit is when x wind-shields are repaired.

−x2+60x−116=0

x2−60x+116=0

x2−2x−58x+116=0

x(x−2)+58(x−2)=0

(x−2)(x−58)=0

x=2,58

x intercepts are x=2, x=58

at these points there is no profit or loss.
