Because of the ice melting, seals cannot stay on the surface of sea ice anymore, which means that seals are probably more scattered than before which makes it harder for polar bears to hunt. Because this is not likely to change anytime soon because of global warming, the most likely prediction regarding polar bears is that they will have to find alternate food sources in order not to become extinct.
