Is much work does a an elevator do to lift a 1500 kg elevator a height of 100 m?

Work done is equal to the force times the distance over which that force acts (provided they are parallel vectors)  In symbols we say:
W= \int\limits^b_a { F^{.} } \, dr
Since gravity acts downward and the elevator goes upward, the dot product is reduced to a simple multiplication problem.  First we need the downward force of the elevator, which is the weight according to F=ma.  F=1500kg*9.81m/s^2=14715N.  Then W=14715N*100m=1471500J, or 1.4715MJ

At a given point on a horizontal streamline in flowing air, the static pressure is â2.0 psi (i.e., a vacuum) and the velocity is
Nastasia [14]
At a point on the streamline, Bernoulli's equation is
p/ρ + v²/(2g) = constant
where
p = pressure
v = velocity
ρ = density of air, 0.075 lb/ft³ (standard conditions)
g = 32 ft/s²

Point 1:
p₁ = 2.0 lb/in² = 2*144 = 288 lb/ft²
v₁ = 150 ft/s

Point 2 (stagnation):
At the stagnation point, the velocity is zero.

The density remains constant.
Let p₂ = pressure at the stagnation point.
Then,
p₂ = ρ(p₁/ρ + v₁²/(2g))
p₂ = (288 lb/ft²) + [(0.075 lb/ft³)*(150 ft/s)²]/[2*(32 ft/s²)
     = 314.37 lb/ft²
     = 314.37/144 = 2.18 lb/in²

I really need help !!
Marat540 [252]

Answer:

The generator will work only if the magnetic field associated with the turns of coil change.

here both magnet and coil are stationary with respect to each other so no electromagnetic induction would take place. so no indiced current will be produced.

the student has to introduce some mechanism either to rotate the coil or the magnet

A train with mass 3.3 x 107 kg starts from rest and accelerates to a speed of 42
Natasha2012 [34]

Answer:

kinetic energy of the train = 2,910.6 x 10⁷ joule

Explanation:

Given:

Mass of train = 3.3 x 10⁷ kg

Speed of train = 42 m/s

Find:

kinetic energy of the train

Computation:

kinetic energy = (1/2)(m)(v²)

kinetic energy of the train = (1/2)(3.3 x 10⁷)(42²)

kinetic energy of the train = (1/2)(3.3 x 10⁷)(1,764)

kinetic energy of the train = (3.3 x 10⁷)(882)

kinetic energy of the train = 2,910.6 x 10⁷ joule
