7) Germanium, element 32 on the Periodic Table, is shown here. If a proton is added to the nucleus of germanium, what outcome(s)
cestrela7 [59]

Addition of a proton to germanium will convert it to arsenic (element 33) having different properties.

The atomic number of an atom is the number of protons in the nucleus of the atom. The atomic number serves as the identity of an atom. If the atomic number is changed by adding or removing protons, the identity of that atom changes.

Hence, when a proton is added to germanium, the atom would become arsenic (element 33) and have different properties.

Aleks [24]

We can use constant acceleration equation to solve for the distance.

Formula is:

Vf^2 = Vi^2 + 2ad

where Vf^2 is final velocity squared, Vi^2 is initial velocity squared, a is acceleration (or deceleration) and d is the distance.

we want the car to come to complete stop, that is, Vf^2 be equal to zero.

Therefore, the equation becomes 0 = Vi^2 + 2ad. Solving for d we get:

d = (-(Vi)^2)/2a). We can ignore the minus sign since acceleration is really deceleration.

We know initial velocity (23m/s) and we know acceleration (max= 300 m/s^2). Plugging these in, we get:

d = ((23 m/s)^2)/(2* 300m/s^2) = 0.88m

We are given the description of an enclosure that has fencing on 3 sides and can use 3,056 yards of fencing. We are to find the
shusha [124]

Answer:

The sum of the lengths of the sides is 2292 yards and the sum of the lengths of the triangle is 3056 yards

Explanation:

Since y represents the length of fence that is opposite (parallel) to the river and x represent the length of fence perpendicular to the river.

Therefore since we can use 3,056 yards of fencing

Side perpendicular to the river = x and,

Side opposite to the river = y = 3056 - 2x

The area of the rectangle formed (A) = Perpendicular side × Parallel side

∴ A = x(3056 - 2x) = 3056x - 2x²

A = 3056x - 2x²

To maximize the area, A' (dA/dx) = 0

∴ A' = 3056 - 4x = 0

3056 - 4x = 0

4x = 3056

x = 764 yards

y = 3056 - 2x = 3056 - 2(764) = 1528 yards.

Side perpendicular to the river = 764 yards and,

Side opposite to the river = 1528 yards

The sum of the lengths of the sides = 764 + 1528 = 2292 yard and the sum of the lengths of the triangle = 764 + 764 + 1528 = 3056 yards
