It's objective was to free recently independent colonies of Latin America from the hands of European intervention. Also to avoid any condition which could possibly make the New World an arena of war for the Old World powers, so the United states could exercise it's own influence without interruption.

The Jews of the Lodz ghetto and the vicinity were the primary victims deported to Chelmno, where they were murdered by means of gas vans.

He was also considered to be the only man who was able to communicate with God in Western society; during the late 70s, it was told that everyone could talk to God. As for similarities, the Pope is in the same Catholic religion, and same education/culture as the other bishops -- he is also very much more well-known to the public.
