Significance of the Hudson River School in the antebellum era to the reaction to the exploitation of American environment during the Gilded Age was that it was warning against the environment exploitation because of factories established in the Gilded Age.

Further Explanations:

Hudson River School was an American art school established during the antebellum era. The school was known for the group of painters of landscape who were influenced by Romanticism. The paintings were depicting the Hudson River Valley and the areas nearby them that include the White Mountains, Adirondack, and Catskill.

Antebellum era and the gilded age are of the same era but are totally different from each other. Glided age referred to as the era in the United States marked by the economic growth in the Northern and the Western areas of America. Rapid expansion of Industries and influx of numerous immigrants was also seen during the era while the Antebellum era refers to the era after the war that is marked by the nation’s expansion and economic reforms.

The painters of the schools were against industrialization as according to the industries will destroy the beauty of nature.

During the Antebellum era the Hudson River School was founded. This school was a school of painting and it produced works of art that depicted American landscapes and the coexistence of humans and nature. They used their pieces to extract emotion and sympathy from the audience, out of their paintings. On the other side, the Gilden Age was a period in America when industrialization, immigration and the settlement of the far west, introduced many changes for American society. This was the age of great factories, where hundreds worked around the clock, often in appalling conditions and on barely enough pay to survive. The period was also called the Age of exploitation, because everything was exploited: humans being and the environment. The connection is that in both the Antebellum era and the Gilded Age, there were different movements (like what the Hudson River School did) explaining the danger this changes brought to the environment: human and nature.
