Answer:

Explanation:

Tariffs are taxes on imports. They effectively raise the prices of those imports, providing an edge to domestic companies in the same markets. Governments usually impose tariffs to help domestic companies, or sometimes to punish foreign competitors for unfair trading practices.

How do tariffs work to protect infant industries? ... They shield new industries in the early stages of their development from the competition of more mature rivals. They raise the trade barriers for imports of child-care products. They increase competition for a new business, forcing it to be more productive.

A resident of a long-term care facility has contracted Clostridium difficile with frequent diarrhea and hyperactive bowel sounds
satela [25.4K]

Toxins are produced by the Clostridium difficile, a form of bacteria, in the intestine that destroys the cells, produces patches of inflammatory cells and destroys cells inside the colon, and causes watery diarrhea .

Explanation:

Clostridium difficile causes diseases like diarrhoea and can lead to something as serious as life threatening colon infection. Staying in a health care facility increases the chances of contacting such types of bacteria. This is because when antibiotics are given, it aggressively attacks the bacteria causing infections and by this they inevitably cause collateral damage to the good bacteria required in the human body.

A void of bacteria is caused in the body and such opportunity is seized by the Clostridium difficile. Once it enters its host t multiplies rapidly and produces toxins to damage the colon producing diarrhoea, inflammation and intestinal bleeding as well. The most critical case occurs when the colon is dilated to a level in which there is a risk of perforation.

Vikentia [17]

According to the risk aversion principle, you should take the action that produces the least harm.

It is a phycological concept applied in economics, specially within the field of finance. When facing situations that involve uncertainty, risk aversion consists on choosing the alternative that diminishes it as much as possible. It is a common behaviour when selecting investment opportunities. For example, a risk averse saver will prefer to keep his money in a bank account (low risk low profit), rather than purchasing shares and betting in the stock markets (high risk high profit).
