uranmaximum [27]3 years ago
3 0
A = (h * b) / 2
A = 200
h = 4b

200 = (b(4b) / 2
200 * 2 = b * 4b
400 = 4b^2
400 / 4 = b^2
100 = b^2
sqrt 100 = b
10 = b ..... base is 10 cm

h = 4b
h = 4(10)
h = 40 <=== height is 40 cm

Use Lagrange multipliers to find the maximum and minimum values of
marusya05 [52]

The Lagrangian is

L(x,y,\lambda)=x+8y+\lambda(x^2+y^2-4)

It has critical points where the first order derivatives vanish:

L_x=1+2\lambda x=0\implies\lambda=-\dfrac1{2x}

L_y=8+2\lambda y=0\implies\lambda=-\dfrac4y

L_\lambda=x^2+y^2-4=0

From the first two equations we get

-\dfrac1{2x}=-\dfrac4y\implies y=8x

Then

x^2+y^2=65x^2=4\implies x=\pm\dfrac2{\sqrt{65}}\implies y=\pm\dfrac{16}{\sqrt{65}}

At these critical points, we have

f\left(\dfrac2{\sqrt{65}},\dfrac{16}{\sqrt{65}}\right)=2\sqrt{65}\approx16.125 (maximum)

f\left(-\dfrac2{\sqrt{65}},-\dfrac{16}{\sqrt{65}}\right)=-2\sqrt{65}\approx-16.125 (minimum)

Find a nonzero vector orthogonal to the plane through the points: ????=(0,0,1), ????=(−2,3,4), ????=(−2,2,0).
ser-zykov [4K]

Answer:

The nonzero vector orthogonal to the plane is <-9,-8,2>.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the given points are P=(0,0,1), Q=(−2,3,4), R=(−2,2,0).

\overrightarrow {PQ}==

\overrightarrow {PR}==

The nonzero vector orthogonal to the plane through the points P,Q, and R is

\overrightarrow n=\overrightarrow {PQ}\times \overrightarrow {PR}

\overrightarrow n=\det \begin{pmatrix}i&j&k\\ \:\:\:\:\:-2&3&3\\ \:\:\:\:\:-2&2&-1\end{pmatrix}

Expand along row 1.

\overrightarrow n=i\det \begin{pmatrix}3&3\\ 2&-1\end{pmatrix}-j\det \begin{pmatrix}-2&3\\ -2&-1\end{pmatrix}+k\det \begin{pmatrix}-2&3\\ -2&2\end{pmatrix}

\overrightarrow n=i(-9)-j(8)+k(2)

\overrightarrow n=-9i-8j+2k

\overrightarrow n=

Therefore, the nonzero vector orthogonal to the plane is <-9,-8,2>.

solniwko [45]

Answer:

8

Step-by-step Explanation:

Step 1. Divide 1200 by 300:

1200 ÷ 300 = 4

Step 2. Multiply 4 by 2:
