The reason behind this is that experts consider that homework in middel and high school can be valuable because it reinforces the knowledge acquired in class. Reading, repetition, comprehension, problem solving homework and activities like those really can improve the retention of the student and improve its knowledge. But in elementary school, activities should be different because children lose attention very rapidly and the best way for them to learn is playing games or recreational activities.
