Answer:

Explained below.

Step-by-step explanation:

The value of different types of coins are as follows:

1 penny (p) = 1 cent

1 nickel (n) = 5 cents

1 dime (d) = 10 cents

1 quarter (q) = 25 cents

It is provided that Taylor has 18 cents in dimes and nickels in her pocket.

This is not possible.

Because the sum of any number of dime and nickel coins will always be a multiple of 5.

<em>a</em>·d + <em>b</em>·n = 10<em>a</em> + 5<em>b</em> = 5 (2<em>a</em> + <em>b</em>)

The value 18 cents can be formed as follows:

8p + d = 18 cents

3p + n + d = 18 cents

3n + 3p = 18 cents

(2.9X10^5)X(3.4X10^3 in standard form
Evgesh-ka [11]

By using exponent, it can be verified that

(2.9 \times 10^5) \times (3.4 \times 10^3) in standard form is 9.86 \times 10^8

What are exponent?

Exponent tells us how many times a number is multiplied by itself.

For example : In 2^4 = 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 2

Here, 2 is multiplied by itself 4 times.

If a^m = a \times a \times a ... \times a (m times), a is the base and m is the index.

The laws of index are

a^{m + n} = a^m \times a^n\\a^{m - n} = \frac{a^m}{a^n}\\(\frac{a}{b})^m = \frac{a^m}{b^m}\\(ab)^m = a^m b^m\\a^0 = 1\\a^{-n} = \frac{1}{a^n}

The given exponent is

(2.9 \times 10^5) \times (3.4 \times 10^3)\\9.86 \times 10^{5+ 3}\\9.86 \times 10^8

5 2/3 becomes 5.666...

Then convert the decimal to a percent.

If your using pemdas the answer would be roughly 3.6 because you divide 8 and 3 first to get 2.6 repeated then do 2+2=4 then 4-3=1 + the original 2.6 = 3.6
