Answer:

The required positive two digit integer is 32.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : If k is a positive two-digit integer.

1) The sum of the tens digit of k and the units digit of k is 5.

2) The tens digit of k + 6 is 3.

To find : What is the tens digit of k ?

Solution :

Let the two digit integer be 10a+b

According to question,

By 1, The sum of the tens digit of k and the units digit of k is 5.

i.e. a+b=5

The possible cases from counting are,

14, 41, 23, 32, 50  whose sum is 5.

By 2, The tens digit of k + 6 is 3.

Which means take number which is added by 6 and give tens digit as 3.

The only possible case is when k=32

As 32+6=38 where tens digit is 3.

Therefore, The required positive two digit integer is 32.

Simplify and show work 5 1/3+(-3 9/18)
DedPeter [7]
This would basically be :
5 1/3 - 3 9/18
Then, make both fractions share a common denominator
5 6/18 - 3 9/18
Then, change the first number to make it compatible to subtract
4 24/18 - 3 9/18 = 1 15/18
Simplify
1 15/18 = 1 5/6

PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM!!!!!!
Jet001 [13]

Answer:

n = 59

Step-by-step explanation:

I find it easiest to work problems of this kind using a graphing calculator. That way, extraneous solutions can be avoided. It seems to work well to rewrite the problem, so you're looking for a value of n that makes the result zero. Here, that would mean you want ...

... f(n) = √(n+5) -√(n-10) -1

_____

The solution by hand involves eliminating the root symbols. You do that by squaring the equation:

... n +5 -2√((n+5)(n-10)) + n -10 = 1

Now, we isolate the remaining root and square again.

... 2n -6 = 2√((n+5)(n-10)) . . . collect terms, add 2√( ) -1

... n -3 = √(n²-5n-50) . . . . . . . divide by 2

... n² -6n +9 = n² -5n -50 . . . . square both sides

... 59 = n . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . add 50 +6n -n²

I do not get question 11 please help me!
Inessa [10]

Triangle QRS has 3 congruent sides, so it is equilateral and equiangular.

The sum of the measures of the angles of a triangle is 180 deg, so each angle of triangle QRS is 60 deg.

Angle RQS measures 60 degrees and forms a linear pair with angle PQS. Angles in a linear pair a supplementary. That makes the measure of angle PQS 120 deg. leaving only 60 degrees as the sum of the measures of angles PSQ and SPQ. Triangle PQS is isosceles since sides PQ and QS are congruent. The angles opposite congruent sides of a triangle are congruent, so angle PSQ is congruent to angle SPQ. That means angles PSQ and SPQ measure 30 deg each.

m<PSR = m<PSQ + m<QSR = 30 + 60 = 90

m<PQS = 120

m<PSR : m<PQS = 90 : 120 = 3 : 4

No choice shows the correct answer.

Charlotte reads 8 1/3 pages of a book of in 10 minutes. What is her average reading rate in pages per minute?
shtirl [24]

The answer as a fraction is 5/6

We want to figure out how many pages Charlotte can read in 1 minute. Since we know how many pages she can read in 10 minutes, in order to find out how many she reads in 1 minute, simply do 10 divided by 8 1/3. Which will give you your answer, 5/6.
