A pair of parallel lines is cut by a transversal: A pair of parallel lines is cut by a transversal. The interior angle made on t

he left by the intersection of the upper parallel line and the transversal is divided into 2 parts by a slanting line. One part of this angle is labeled as x, and the other part is labeled as 30 degrees. The interior angle made on the right by the intersection of the lower parallel line and the transversal is labeled as 75 degrees. What is the measure of angle x? (1 point)

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the diagram in the attachment for reference. You can substitute the values given in question in place of the one in the diagram.

From the diagram, it can be seen that the sum of angle x and 20 is equal to angle 75 degrees i.e x+30 = 75 (alternate angles)

Next is to find the value of x from the equation

x+30 = 75

Subtract 30 from both sides of the equation;

x+30-30 = 75-30

x = 75-30

x = 45

Hence the measure of angle x is 45°

Charlie mixes 15 liters of 17% acid solution with a 29% acid solution, which results in 23% acid solution.
777dan777 [17]

(15(.17)+.29x)/(15+x)=.23

2.55+.29x=3.45+.23x

.06x=.9

x=15

So 15L of the 29% solution was added to the 15L of 17% solution to make

30L of 23% solution.

Phoenix [80]

(1) 34.8 liters

(2) $63.55

Solution:

(1) There is a mistake in question. It is 42 liters.

Total gasoline a car can hold = 42 liters

Liters of gasoline filled in beginning of the week = 35.8

Liters of gasoline used during the week = 28.6

Remaining liters of gasoline in the tank = 35.8 – 28.6

                                                                  = 7.2 liters

Quantity of gasoline need to buy to fill the tank completely

                               = Total capacity – Remaining gas in the tank

                               = 42 liters – 7.2 liters

                               = 34.8 liters

Hence Alberto need to buy 34.8 liters of gasoline to fill the tank.

Option B is the correct answer.

(2)

Shamika earns in first week = $25.75

Shamika earns in next week = $37.80

Total money Shamika have = First week earning + Second week earning

                                              = $25.75 + $37.80

                                              = $63.55

Don't add or subtract spending money, because the question is how much she have from these two weeks.

Hence Shamika have $63.55 from these two weeks.
