How much water do you add to make 12% sugar syrup using 5g sugar?

so the syrup is just water and sugar, we know that the sugar percent is just 12%, and that happens to be 5grams.

now 100% - 12% is 88%, so the 88% leftover will just be water.

if 12% is 5g, how much is 88%?

\bf \begin{array}{ccll} amount&\%\\ \cline{1-2} 5&12\\ x&88 \end{array}\implies \cfrac{5}{x}=\cfrac{12}{88}\implies \cfrac{5}{x}=\cfrac{3}{22}\implies 110=3x \\\\\\ \cfrac{110}{3}=x\implies 36\frac{2}{3}=x

Answer:

36\dfrac{2}{3} g of water.

Step-by-step explanation:

You know that 5 g of sugar form 12%. Let x g be the amount of water needed. The total amount of syrup will be x+5 g. Then

5 g - 12%,

x+5 g - 100%.

Mathematically, you can write a proportion:

\dfrac{5}{x+5}=\dfrac{12}{100}\Rightarrow 500=12(x+5),\ 500=12x+60,\ 12x=440, \\ \\x=\dfrac{440}{12}=\dfrac{110}{3}=36\dfrac{2}{3}.

Water is being pumped into a 12-foot-tall cylindrical tank at a constant rate.
Stels [109]

Answer:

4 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that:

• At 2:30 p.m., the water depth was 2.6 feet.

• It is now 5:00 p.m., and the depth of the water is 3.6 feet.

So in 2.5 hours ( 5pm - 2:30pm) the water rose 1 feet (3.6 - 2.6).

Now <em><u>we can find how much water rises in 1 hour by setting up a ratio (let x be the depth increase of water in 1 hr):</u></em>

\frac{2.5}{1}=\frac{1}{x}\\2.5x=1*1\\2.5x=1\\x=\frac{1}{2.5}\\x=0.4

So, in 1 hour, the water level will rise 0.4 feet

So, at 6pm (1 hour from 5 pm) it will rise to 3.6 + 0.4 = 4 feet

HEY!!! YES, YOU!!! WANNA HELP OUT A FELLOW SUFFERING VICTIM OF MATH? NOWS YOUR CHANCE!!! PLEASE HELP! 10 PTS!!!
rosijanka [135]

Answer:

16 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Suppose that x is the original width. If that original width is enlarged by a scale factor 5/2 that means that x is multiplied by 5/2 and after that multiplication we obtained new width, 40 cm.

Therefore,

x*(5/2) = 40

We multiply the equation by 2 and obtain:

x*5 = 40*2

5x = 80

Now we divide the equation by 5 and obtain:

x = 80/5

x = 16

We obtained that x, the original width was 16 cm

What is the surface area of the cone? Express your answer in terms of π.b
weeeeeb [17]

Given:

Radius of the cone = 5 ft

Slant height of the cone = 21 ft

To find:

The surface area of the cone

Solution:

Surface area of cone formula:

SA=\pi r^{2}+\pi r l

where r is the radius and l is the slant height.

SA=\pi \times 5^{2}+\pi \times 5 \times 21

SA=\pi \times 25+\pi \times 105

SA=25 \pi+ 105 \pi

SA=130 \pi

The surface area of the cone is 130π square feet.
