If you fit the vertex and the y-intercept into that form of the parabola, what you get is this:
a(0-4) ^{2} =(15+1) and
a(-4) ^{2} =16 and 16a=16. Solve that a to get that a = 1.  Now you have your true parabola equation in vertex form, which is:
1(x-4) ^{2} =y+1 or just
(x-4) ^{2} =y+1
Follow my work here to find the x-intercepts:
(x-4) ^{2} -1=y
(x-4)(x-4)-1=y and x^{2} -8x+16-1=y
Simplifying by combining like terms gives you this parabola:
x^{2} -8x+15=y
In order to find the x-intercepts, or the roots of the parabola as they are also known as, you have to set y equal to 0 (because the x-intercepts are found when y = 0, right?)
x^{2} -8x+15=0
Factoring that gives you (x-5)(x-3)=0 and that x-5=0 and x-3=0. Solving each of those simple equations gives you x=5 and x=3 when y=0. So the roots, in the form you require them, are (5, 0) and (3, 0)

High expression is equivalent to ^4 square root x^10
Talja [164]

In order to find which <u>expression</u> is <u>equivalent</u> to \sqrt[4]{x^{10}}, <u>simplify</u> all given expressions:

0.

\sqrt[4]{x^{10}}=x^{\frac{10}{4}}=x^{\frac{5}{2}}=x^{2.5}.

1.

x^2(\sqrt[4]{x^2})=x^2\cdot x^{\frac{2}{4}}=x^2\cdot x^{\frac{1}{2}}=x^2\cdot x^{0.5}=x^{2.5}.

2.

x^{2.2}.

3.

x^3(\sqrt[4]{x} )=x^3\cdot x^{\frac{1}{4}}=x^3\cdot x^{0.25}=x^{3.25}.

4.

x^5.

What is/are the classification of functions that has its inverse?
UNO [17]

Answer:

Invertible functions

Step-by-step explanation:

An inverse of a function is one that reverses the operation of the function such that the result of the function on a variable, is reversed back to the initial variable

Therefore, when we have the the result of the function, f on x as y given as follows;

f(x) = y

The inverse of the function, g on the result, y gives the initial variable, x as follows;

g(y) = x

Example of invertible functions includes;

f(x) = x²

An example of a non-invertible function includes;

f(x) = 2·x².
