The rectangle below has an area of 15x^3y^415x 3 y 4 square meters and a length of 3x^2y3x 2 y meters.What is the width of the r
Zina [86]

Answer:

The width of the rectangle is 5xy^3.

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a rectangle is the product of length and width of the rectangle.

A=length\times width

It is given that the area of the rectangle is 15x^3y^4 square meters and the length of the rectangle is 3x^2y.

15x^3y^4=3x^2y\times width

width=\frac{15x^3y^4}{3x^2y}

width=\frac{3\times 5\times x^2\times xy^3\times y}{3x^2y}

Cancel out common factors 3x²y.

width=5xy^3

Therefore the width of the rectangle is 5xy^3.

The number of students who chose lunch was 5 more than the number of students who chose breakfast. Write a system of linear equa
Papessa [141]

Answer:

The system of linear equations are y=5+x and  x+y=25

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The number of students who chose lunch was 5 more than the number of students who chose breakfast. Let x represent the number of students who chose breakfast and y represent the number of students who chose lunch.

(50 students picked, 25 picked dinner the rest picked lunch and breakfast)

To find : Write a system of linear equations that represents the numbers of students who chose breakfast and lunch ?

Solution :

The number of students who chose breakfast be 'x'

The number of students who chose lunch be 'y'.

The number of students who chose lunch was 5 more than the number of students who chose breakfast.

i.e. y=5+x

Now, Total student were 50 and 25 picked dinner the rest picked lunch and breakfast i.e. 25.

So, x+y=25

Therefore, the system of linear equations are y=5+x and  x+y=25

What is the base five representation of The number 219
ICE Princess25 [194]

assuming 219_{10}

Then the column values for base five here are

5³  5²  5^{1}  5^{0}

We can get 1 × 5³ = 125 → 219 - 125 = 94

We can get 3 × 5² = 75 → 94 - 75 = 19

We can get 3 x 5^{1} → 19 - 15 = 4

and 4 = 4 × 5^{0}

Thus 219_{10} = 1334_{5}

As a check

(1 × 125 ) + (3 × 25 ) + (3 × 5 ) + 4 = 219

12(6k+3)+4(7-5k) the distributive property simply each expression
hodyreva [135]
The distributive property: a(b + c) = ab + ac

12(6k + 3) + 4(7 - 5k) = 12(6k) + 12(3) + 4(7) + 4(-5k)

= 72k + 36 + 28 - 20k = 52k + 64
