Which of the following does not accurately describe the forces that exist with an atom? A. Electrons in an atom are attracted to

the protons within the nucleus due to opposite charges. B. Electrons closer to the nucleus and electrons farther from the nucleus repel due to like charges. C. Electrons positioned farther away from the nucleus are less attracted to the nucleus than are electrons positioned closer to the nucleus. D. Electrons positioned closer to the nucleus have a greater attraction to the protons and are more likely to be discharged from the atom than electrons farther away.

<span>A, B, and C are correct descriptions.

Choice-D does NOT accurately describe the forces
that exist within an atom.

Choice-D should say:
"Electrons positioned closer to the nucleus have a greater
attraction to the protons and are LESS likely to be discharged
from the atom than electrons farther away are."</span>

f a wave has a wavelength of 9 meters and a period of 0.006, what is the velocity of the wave? A. 1,200 m/s B. 1,500 m/s C. 1,80
GalinKa [24]

Answer: 1500 m/sec. ( b )

Solution:

V= f (λ)

Speed = frequency. Wavelength

And frequency = 1/time period

First we will find the frequency :

Frequency = 1/time period

1/0.006 = 166.67 Hz

Using this in the equation:

Speed = frequency. Wavelength

V= f (λ)

9 × 166.67

= 1500.03 ≈ 1500

V (Speed) = 1500 m/s.

Note: Do not forget to mention the units or otherwise they may cost you marks!
