During the 1990s, Intel Architecture Labs was responsible for many of the PC hardware innovations, including the PCI bus, the PCI Express bus (PCIe) and the universal serial bus (USB). Its video and graphics software was important in the development of digital video software, but later their efforts were overshadowed by Microsoft's competition.
