If f(x) = -2[x] + 8, what is f(-1.8)?<br> O 4 <br> O 6<br> O 10<br> O 12
lina2011 [118]

Answer:

12

Step-by-step explanation:

since the function is -2x+8 and you have been told to find f(-1.8) you have to replace -1.8 were there's x in the function.

f(x)=-2x+8

f(-1.8)=-2x+8

=-2(-1.8)+8

=3.6+8

=11.6 round off to 12

I hope this helps

6x+3y=15 for y. What does y equal if x=2? If x=5?
IrinaVladis [17]
If x=2, the equation would be 6 (2) + 3y = 15.

This simplifies to 12 +3y = 15. Subtract 12 from both sides and you get 3y = 3. Divide both sides by 3 and you get y = 1.

So if x = 2, y =1

If x = 5, the equation becomes  6 (5) + 3y = 15.

This simplifies to 30 + 3y = 15. Subtract 30 from both sides and you get 3y = -15. Divide both sides by 3 and you get y = -5.

So if x =5, y = -5.

I hope this helps!
