Answer:  

The biotic factors are considered as biotic factor even when it is dead. This is because they still have cellular components in them unless they are completely decomposed.

The biotic components are food for the detrivores as they feed on them for their energy source.

Till the animals and plants are completely decayed and decomposed to get mixed in soil they are considered as a biotic component.
