The Institutional Review Board (IRB) is an administrative body set up to ensure the rights and welfare of human research subjects enlisted to take an interest in research exercises led under the sponsorship of the foundation with which it is partnered.

The IRB is worried about securing the welfare, rights, and protection of human subjects.
