Marvin lives in Stormwind City and works as an engineer in the city of Ironforge. In the morning, he has 3 transportation option

s (teleport, ride a dragon, or walk) to work, and in the evening he has the same 3 choicesfor his trip home. If Marvin randomly chooses his method of travel in the morning and in the evening, what is the probability that he teleports at least once per day?

The probability is 5/9.

The probability that he teleports at least once per day is the same as 1 - (probability he doesn't teleport).  The probability that he doesn't teleport in the morning is 2/3; in the evening it is 2/3.  This means the probability he doesn't teleport at all that day is (2/3)(2/3) = 4/9.  The probability he teleports at least once that day, then, is 1-4/9 = 5/9.

Well first you have to find how many toothpicks in the bag so O+G+R+B=24. So 24 toothpicks in a bag. And R+B=12 so you can simplify and do 1 of the following

There are 850 toothpicks in a regular-sized box. If a jumbo box is made by doubling all the dimensions of the regular-sized bo
astra-53 [7]

Answer:

6800 toothpicks

Step-by-step explanation:

Capacity (how many can be held) is another word for volume.

The equation for volume is

V = lwh

And in the regular-sized box V = 850 toothpicks, so

850 = lwh

We need to double each dimension. Multiply length by 2, width by 2, and height by 2. 2*2*2 = 8, so multiply both sides by 8.

8* 850 = 8 * lwh

6800 = lwh

<u>The jumbo box can hold 6800 toothpicks.</u>

A coffee shop sells assorted types of coffees, and blends them into their "signature blends". Sri Lankan sells for $4.20 per pou
Pavlova-9 [17]

The customer bought 0.25 pounds of Sri Lankan coffee and 3.75 pounds of Kona coffee

Data;

  • Kona (y) = $6.20
  • Sri Lankan (x) = $4.20
<h3>System of Equation</h3>

To solve this question, let us write a system of equations to show this problem.

x + y = 4 ... equation (i)\\4.20x + 6.20y = 24.30... equation (ii)

From equation (i)

x + y = 4\\x = 4 - y...equation (iii)

Put equation (iii) into equation (ii)

4.20x + 6.20y = 24.30\\x = 4 - y\\4.20(4 - y)+ 6.20y = 24.30\\16.8 - 4.20y + 6.20y = 24.30\\16.8 +2y = 24.30\\2y = 24.30 - 16.80\\2y = 7.5\\2y/2 = 7.5/2\\y = 3.75

Using the value of y which is the Kona's coffee, let's substitute this into equation (i) to solve for x

x+y = 4\\x = 4 - 3.75\\x = 0.25

From the calculations above,

  • The amount of Sri Lankan coffee = 0.25 pound
  • The amount of Kona coffee = 3.75 pounds
