Answer:

they work together, it will take 2.4 hours to build the wall.

Step-by-step explanation:

One bricklayer can build a wall in 6 hours.

One hour work = \frac{1}{6}

Another bricklayer can build the same wall in 4 hours.

One hour work = \frac{1}{4}

They can together, how long will take them to build the wall.

Let's take "t" the time taken to build the wall.

The sum of their work rate = 1 (To build the wall)

\frac{t}{6} + \frac{t}{4} = 1

Now we have to solve this equation. Take LCD of 6 and 4.

The LCD (least common divisor) of 6 and 4 is 12.

\frac{2t + 3t}{12} = 1

5t = 12*1

5t = 12

Dividing both sides by 5, we get

t = \frac{12}{5}

t = 2.4 hours.

So, they work together, it will take 2.4 hours to build the wall.

*If you add two integers with different signs, how can you tell whether the sum will be positive, negative, or zero?
irina [24]

Answer:

Please see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

When two integers are being added there can be three cases in the answer

  • <u>Positive</u>

The sum will be positive if both the integers are positive and in case of addition of one positive and negative integer, the sum will be positive if the integer with larger magnitude is positive

  • <u>Negative</u>

The sum will be negative if both integers are negative and in case of addition of one positive and negative integer, the sum will be negative if the integer with larger magnitude is negative

  • <u>Zero</u>

The sum will be zero if both the integers have same magnitude and different signs.

How do u do this stuff I’m confused
Luba_88 [7]
Ok so I'll show u how to do number 7
So 12 and one third basically equals 12+(1/3)
Now in order to add this to another fraction, we need to make the mixed numbers in improper fractions
So 12 and (1/3)=(36/3)+(1/3)
And 9 and (2/3)=(27/3)+(2/3)
Ok so the first number (or 12 and (1/3)) basically equals (37/3)
The second number (or 9 and (2/3)) equals (29/3)

Now that we have the two numbers with common denominators, we can do the math.

(37/3)-(29/3) is the same as (37-29)/3
So simplifying would be
(8/3) or 2 and (2/3)
Hoped this helped

If f (x) =-14x-2, then f^-1 (x) =
const2013 [10]
Hi!

Switch up the variables:

y = -14x - 2.

x = -14y - 2.

Add 2 to both sides.

x + 2 = -14y - 2 + 2.

x + 2 = -14y.

Divide by -14 on both sides.

(x + 2) / -14 = -14y / -14.

(x + 2) / -14 = y.

Change the y to f^-1(x).

f^-1(x) = (x + 2) / -14.

Hopefully, this helps! =)
