First one is balanced because all of the elements in reactant and product have equal number of atoms.

second one is not balanced therefore you need to add coefficient to balance it. so its CaCl2 + 2NaHCO3 = CO2 + CaCO3 + H2O + 2NaCl

both of them seem double replacement reaction

Hope it helps!

Chemical equations must be balanced -- they must have the same number of atoms of each element on both sides of the equation. As a result, the mass of the reactants must be equal to the mass of the products of the reaction.

By titration, it is found that 47.5 mL of 0.146 M NaOH(aq) is needed to neutralize 25.0 mL of HCl(aq). Calculate the concentrati
OleMash [197]

Answer:

The correct answer is 0.277 M HCl

Explanation:

NaOH is a strong base and HCl is a strong acid. NaOH reacts with HCl to form a salt (NaCl) and water via a neutralization reaction, as follows:

NaOH + HCl → NaCl + H₂O

At the equivalence point, the moles of NaOH added is equal to the moles of HCl present in the solution to be titrated. Moreover, the moles can be calculated as the product of the concentration of base or acid (Cb or Ca) and the volume (Vb and Va), as follows:

moles NaOH = moles HCl

Cb x Vb         =  Ca x Va

Thus, we calculate the concentration of HCl (Ca), as follows:

Ca = (Cb x Vb)/Va = (0.146 M x 47.5 mL)/(25.0 mL)= 0.277 M

if 28.5 g of calcium hydroxide is dissolved in enough water to make 185g of solution what is the percent by mass of calcium hydr
DENIUS [597]

The percent by mass of calcium hydroxide in the solution : 15.41%

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

The concentration of a substance can be expressed in several quantities such as moles, percent (%) weight/volume,), molarity, molality, parts per million (ppm) or mole fraction. The concentration shows the amount of solute in a unit of the amount of solvent.

Mass of solute (Ca(OH₂-Calcium hydroxide) : 28.5

Mass of solution = 185 g

\tt \%mass=\dfrac{mass~solute}{mass~solution}\times 100\%\\\\\%mass=\dfrac{28.5~g}{185~g}\times 100\%\\\\\%mass=15.41\%
