A high-speed flywheel in a motor is spinning at 450 rpm (revolutions per minute) when a power failure suddenly occurs. The flywh

eel has mass 45.0 kg and diameter 74.0 cm . The power is off for 25.0 s and during this time the flywheel slows due to friction in its axle bearings. During the time the power is off, the flywheel makes 180 complete revolutions. A. At what rate is the flywheel spinning when the power comes back on? (rad/s)B. How long after the beginning of the power failure would it have taken the flywheel to stop if the power had not come back on? (s)C. How many revolutions would the wheel have made during this time?

Answer:

a) final angular speed w2 = 414rpm

b) time to stop t = 312.5s

c) angular distance from start to stop s = s = 1171.88 rev

Explanation:

Average angular speed wa = (w1+w2)/2 = Angular distance/time = s/t

Given;

w1 = 450 rpm = 450/60 rev/s = 7.5 rev/s

s = 180 rev

t = 25s

a)

s/t = (w1+w2)/2

w2 = 2s/t - w1

Substituting the values;

w2 = 2×180/25 - 7.5 = 6.9 rev/s

w2 = 6.9×60rpm = 414rpm

b)

Angular deceleration a = (w1-w2)/t = (7.5-6.9)/25

a = 0.024 rev/s^2

time t for w2 = 0

t = (w1-w2)/a = (7.5-0)/0.024

t = 312.5 s

c)

Angular distance from start to stop s;

s = w1t - 0.5at^2

s = 7.5×312.5s - 0.5×0.024×312.5^2

s = 1171.88 rev

Two cats are sitting on a 30 m hill. One cat
V125BC [204]

Answer:

Cat with 6 kg sitting on a 30 meter hill has greater potential energy.

Explanation:

gravitational potential energy (J) = mass (kg) × gravitational field × height (m)

<h3 /><h3><u>Note</u>:</h3>

gravitational field in Earth is 10 N/kg = <u>fixed unit</u>

<h3 /><h3><u>Given</u>:</h3>

1st Cat: 4 kg

2nd Cat: 6 kg

Both of their height is 30 meters.

<h3><u>Solve for g.p.e</u>:</h3>

1st cat = mgh = 4 × 10 × 30 = 1200 Joules

2nd cat = mgh = 6 × 10 × 30 = 1800 Joules

A point charge has q=1.0×10-6
dmitriy555 [2]

Since the 2 points form a triangle with hypothenuse of √5 [ √(1²+2²)],

I guess apply the formula :

v = kq \div r

with r as √5 and q as 1x10^-6

not sure about this answer tho

You are dragging a block on a surface with friction at a steady speed of 2 m/s and exert a force of 5 N to do so. What is the fo
m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:

Friction = 5 N

Explanation:

As we know that block is moving at constant speed

So the acceleration of the block is zero

So we will have

F_{net} = 0

for net force to be zero

Force exerted on the object by external system must be counter balanced by the force of friction

So we have

F_{ex} = F_f

so we have

F_f = 5 N

9. Una jeringa contiene cloro gaseoso, que ocupa un volumen de 95 mL a una presión de 0,96 atm. ¿Qué presión debemos ejercer en
masha68 [24]

Answer:

2.61 atm

Ley de Boyle

Explanation:

P_1 = Presión inicial = 0.96 atm

P_2 = Presión final

V_1 = Volumen inicial = 95 mL

V_2 = Volumen final = 35 mL

En este problema usaremos la ley de Boyle.

\dfrac{P_1}{P_2}=\dfrac{V_2}{V_1}\\\Rightarrow P_2=\dfrac{P_1V_1}{V_2}\\\Rightarrow P_2=\dfrac{0.96\times 95}{35}\\\Rightarrow P_1=2.61\ \text{atm}

La presión ejercida sobre el émbolo para reducir su volumen es de 2.61 atm.

True/false: you should begin viewing a specimen with the 10x objective lens.
Nezavi [6.7K]

You should begin viewing a specimen with the 10X objective lens that is false.

<h3>What is a lens?</h3>

An optical device known as a lens uses refraction to focus or disperse a light beam. A compound lens is made up of multiple simple lenses (elements), typically aligned along a common axis, as opposed to a simple lens, which is one solid piece of transparent material. Glass or plastic are used to make lenses, which are then polished or molded into the required shape. In contrast to a prism, which just refracts light without focusing it, a lens can focus light to create an image. In addition to focusing visible light, lenses can also be used to disperse various types of waves and radiation, such as explosive, microwave, electron, and acoustic waves.
