In a common but dangerous prank, a chair is pulled away as a person is moving downward to sit on it, causing the victim to land

hard on the floor. Suppose the victim falls by 0.40 m, the mass that moves downward is 61.0 kg, and the collision on the floor lasts 0.0820 s. What are the magnitudes of the (a) impulse and (b) average force acting on the victim from the floor during the collision?

Given the relationships,

h=0.4m\\m=61kg\\t=0.082s

Given the energy conservation equation,

\frac{1}{2}mv^2 = mgh

v= \sqrt{2gh}

v= \sqrt{2*9.8*0.4}

v=2.8m/s

Since this is the initial speed and according to the problem, the final is zero,

\vec{J}=m(\vec{v}_f-\vec{v}_i)

\vec{J}=61*(0-(-2.8))

\vec{J}=170Kg-m/s

B) The average force would be given by the change that exists at the time during the change of time,

|F|=\frac{P_f-P_i}{\Delta t}

|F|= \frac{m(0-v_i)}{\Delta t}

|F| = \frac{170}{0.082}

|F|= 2073.1N

The wavelength of the radio wave is 0.303 m.

<h3>Wavelength</h3>

The wavelength of the wave is the distance traveled by the wave.

c = fλ

where;

  • c is speed of light = 3 x 10⁷ m/s
  • f is frequency
  • λ is wavelength

λ = c/f

λ = (3 x 10⁷ ) / (99 x 10⁶)

λ = 0.303 m

Thus, the wavelength of the radio wave is 0.303 m.

labwork [276]

Answer:

Accretion

Explanation:

Accretion is the process by which there is an accumulation of particles into a bigger object by attracting more mass by gravitational force into an accretion disk. This is one of the first steps in the formation of our solar system. There was a collapse of a gas cloud which resulted in most of the mass collecting in the center leading to the formation of the sun and the rest spread out forming the planets.

Because Earth's rotation is gradually slowing, the length of each day increases: The day at the end of 1.0 century is 1.0 ms lon
stira [4]

Answer:

0.088 seconds

0.0880000273785 second

0.08800054757 seconds

Explanation:

In the question it is given each century adds 1 ms to a day due to the slowing rotation of the Earth

In 88 centuries the length of the first day of the year will be

88 × 1 = 88 ms = 0.088 seconds

1 ms = 1 century

1 century = 100 years × 365.25 days

⇒1 ms = 36525 days

1\ day=\frac{1}{365.25}=2.7378\times 10^{-5} ms=2.7378\times 10^{-8} s

Sum of the gain on the first day would be

0.088 + 2.7378×10⁻⁸ = 0.0880000273785 second

Sum of the gain on the second day would be

0.088 + 2.7378×10⁻⁸+2.7378×10⁻⁸ = 0.08800054757 seconds
