Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

R is the speed of the plane

S is the speed of the wind

(R-S)*7 = 7490 <--- against the wind

(R+s)*9 = 11610 <--- with the wind

Distributes:

7R - 7S  = 7490

9R + 9S = 11610

Multiplies the top equation by 9

and the bottom equation by 7

63R - 63S = 67410

63R + 63s = 81270

126R = 148680

R=1180

Plugs into original first equation

(R-S)*7 = 7490

(1180-s)*7 = 7490

 1180 - s = 7490/7

1180 - s = 1070

-s = -110

s = 110

The speed of the plane in still air is 1180

The spped of the wind is 110

This is awfully fast.

What actions did colonists take to protest the Townshend Acts?
brilliants [131]

Answer:

The Townshend Acts would use the revenue raised by the duties to pay the salaries of colonial governors and judges, ensuring the loyalty of America's governmental officials to the British Crown. However, these policies prompted colonists to take action by boycotting British goods.

Ethan sold 2 3 gallon of lemonade. Kayla sold some lemonade too. Together, they sold 1 1 4 gallons. Who sold more lemonade, Etha
zhenek [66]

Step-by-step explanation:

Ethan sold 2/3 gallon of lemonade.

Kayla sold some lemonade too.

Together they sold 1 1/4 gallons.

Subtract 2/3 from 1 1/4 as follows :

S=1\dfrac{1}{4}-\dfrac{2}{3}\\\\=\dfrac{5}{4}-\dfrac{2}{3}\\\\=\dfrac{7}{12}

So, Kayla sold 7/12 gallons of lemonade.

As 2/3 is more than 7/12, it means Ethan sold more lemonade.

\dfrac{2}{3}-\dfrac{7}{12}=\dfrac{1}{12}

It means Eathn sold 1/12 more lemonade.
