Newborn infants are usually exposed to unhealthy level of nitrates via nitrate contaminated water that is used to mix their food formula. Presence of high dose of nitrate in the body drastically reduces the amount of oxygen that is found in the blood, this make the color of the baby to become bluish. Other symptoms associated with this condition are: difficulty in breathing, nausea, vomiting, dehydration, dizziness, weakness, etc.
