There would be a decrease in contractility

Explanation:

Since the calcium ion channel blockers slow down the calcium ion and they do not affect the potassium ion efflux which thus leads to a quick repolarization of the cell. This causes the muscle cell to lose the ability to sustain the excitability needed to keep it in a contracted state.
