Only DNA contains the base, thymine, which binds with adenine. Whereas RNA contains the base, uracil, which binds with adenine. Also the structure of their sugars are different: Deoxyribose, in DNA, contains one less oxygen than RNA's ribose sugar.

Difference between DNA and RNA:

- The shape of DNA resembles a double spiral band, while single-band RNA is formed

- DNA has long and double twisted chains while RNA has single and short chains.

- DNA has the role of passing down the signal and synthesizing protein, whereas RNA has a role only to synthesize protein.

- The sugar component that makes up DNA is Deoxyribose while the sugar that makes up RNA is Ribose.

- DNA is a double-chain amino acid group, whereas RNA is a short-chain amino acid group.

- DNA levels are static because they are not influenced by protein synthesis or genetic activity, whereas RNA levels can change due to protein synthesis.

- The types of nitrogenous bases of DNA are Purines, phosphate groups, and Pyrimidines, while RNA is Purines and Pyrimidines

Further Explanation

Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is a type of biomolecule that stores and encodes the genetic instructions of each organism and many types of viruses in the form of nucleic acids in which there are living cells. DNA consists of material that forms chromosomes and genetic information stored in living things.

Ribonucleic acid (RNA) is a polymer molecule that is involved in various biological roles in coding, regulation, decoding, and gene expression. RNA is a macromolecule that functions as the storage and distribution of genetic information.
