A persons resting heart rate is typically between 60 and 100 beats per minute. Noah looks at his watch, and counts 8 heartbeats

in 10 seconds.
Is his heart rate typical? Explain how you know.

Write an equation for h, the number of times Noahs heart beats (at this rate) in m minutes.

Its typical because  60 between 100. 8 times 10 seconds equals 80 which is in between so Noah's heart rate is typical.

Answer:

  • (a)  area = 3y^2 +14y +16
  • (b)  perimeter = 8y +20

Step-by-step explanation:

Part of the point of Algebra is that you can work with things that stand for numbers (almost) as easily as working with numbers themselves. Here, you are given values that stand for the length and width of the rectangle.

(a) You know the area of a rectangle is found by multiplying its length by its width. The same is true when length and width are algebraic expressions that stand for those numbers.

  <u>Given:</u> length = 3y+8, width = y+2

  <u>Find:</u> area = length × width

  <u>Solution:</u>

     area = (3y+8) × (y+2)

Using the distributive property, we can perform this multiplication in essentially the same way we would for the numbers 38 and 12.

     area = 3y(y +2) +8(y +2)           equivalent to 30(12) +8(12)

     = 3y^2 +6y +8y +16                  equivalent to 30·10 +30·2 +8·10 +8·2

     area = 3y^2 +14y +16              equivalent to 3·10^2 +14·10 +16

(Of course, with numbers, there are relationships between units and tens and hundreds that let us further combine terms. When variables are involved, we can combine terms with the same power of the variable, but we cannot combine "y" terms with "y^2" terms the way we can with numbers.)

___

(b) The perimeter is the sum of the lengths of the four sides of the rectangle. Since two of those sides are "length" and two are "width", we can write ...

  perimeter = 2(length + width)

Making the substitution for length and width as defined above, we have

  perimeter = 2((3y+8) + (y+2))

  = 2(3y+y + 8+2) = 2(4y +10)

  perimeter = 8y +20

QUESTION 60 What is the mean of the following set of data? Round your answer to two decimal places. {25, 32, 16, 21, 30, 18, 37}
padilas [110]

Question 60:

The answer is B. 25.57.

Mean is calculated by adding up all the values of a data set, and then dividing that sum by the amount of values.

25, 32, 16, 21, 30, 18, 37=179

179÷7=25.57

Question 61:

The answer is A. 102.

Mode is the number in a data set that appears most often. 102 shows up twice, while the other values only appear once. So 102 is the mode.

angel's dad bought a television for her completing all of her digital learning day lesson. he want to warp the gift. the box mea
atroni [7]

Answer: 13 sheets of paper

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the dimensions of the box and the wrap paper:

Box:

(56 in)(8 in)(36 in)

Warp paper:

(26 in)(17 in)

Now we need to find the surface area of the box and the area of the wrap paper:

Box:

surface_{1}=(56 in)(8 in)(2)=896 in^{2}

surface_{2}=(8 in)(36 in)(2)=576 in^{2}

surface_{3}=(56 in)(36 in)(2)=4032 in^{2}

surface-area=896 in^{2}+576 in^{2}+4032 in^{2}=5504 in^{2}

Warp paper:

area=(26 in)(17 in)=442 in^{2}

Dividing the area of the box by the area of the paper:

\frac{surface-area}{area}=\frac{5504 in^{2}}{442 in^{2}}=12.45 \approx 13

This means Angel's dad needs to purchase 13 sheets of wrapping paper.

Trapezoid WKLX has vertices W(2, −3), K(4, −3), L(5, −2) , and X(1, −2) . Trapezoid WKLX  is translated 4 units right and 3 uni
guapka [62]
Okay, so first of all, if the trapezoid was translated right 4,
Then all the (x)'s should be 4 more than the original value
For example: (2,-3) <span>→ (6,-3)
Now since the Trapezoid was translated down 3,
Then all the (y)'s should be 3 less than the original value
For example: (2,-3) </span><span>→ (2,-6)
Now do this to all the Vertices
</span>(6,-6)(8,-6)(9,-5)(5,-5)
