Genetic variation allows for a greater chance of a population surviving. For example, if a plant species acquires a disease, without genetic variation the disease would just keep getting passed on to the next identical organism and the population would decline and eventually die. But genetic variation prevents that from happening, because you have so many other species in the ecosystem, and genetic variation is a product of sexual reproduction meaning that the offspring of the diseased plant has a possibility of not inheriting the disease.
Growing a new spider plant from a plantlet is called vegetative reproduction.
DNA, deoxyribonucleic acid, is the genetic material in your cells. It was passed on to you from your parents and determines your characteristics. The discovery that DNA is the genetic material was another important milestone in molecular biology
Heredity, also called inheritance or biological inheritance, is the passing on of traits from parents to their offspring; either through asexual reproduction or sexual reproduction, the offspring cells or organisms acquire the genetic information of their parents
Hey! :)
Your ovaries make progesterone after ovulation. The most important role of progesterone is to get your uterus ready so that it can receive, implant, and support a fertilized egg during pregnancy. Progesterone levels are usually low during the first stage (follicular stage) of your menstrual cycle.
Hope this helps! :)
