What are the 2 structures that are located within the diencephanon
erik [133]

Answer

Two structures located in the diencephalon are hypothalamus and epithalamus

Explanation

The diencephalon of the human brain has four main structures which are the hypothalamus, the thalamus, the epithalamus and the subthalamus. Thalamus structure is at the center of the brain which relays sensory impulses to the cerebral cortex. The hypothalamus regulates the temperature of the body while the epithalamus maintains the circadian rhythms.

Nature vs Nurture debate.

Explanation:

Development in human is inborn.The stages of development is dictated and directed by expression of genes encoded by the DNA.Therefore physiological and biochemical interpretations of these DNA dictates is known as human development. it is a fixed mechanisms which is fastest at childhood,and progressively slower at advanced stage.Although environmental factors may influence this developmental stages, the exact mechanism of occurrence is constant and fixed.

Nuture concept believe that, human development is as a result of societal and cultural factors in the environment, and the progression of the development is due to the influences of theses factors on human perception of life. Thus Human development is acquired through life exposure and experiences.They are therefore dynamic, and not static, but fluctuates based on level of exposure in the environment.

However, both concept interacts with one another to ensure an holistic human development. Generally it is the interaction of the environment with genetic that explains the concept of natural selection and evolution of human race.

Assume that a cross is made between AaBb and aabb plants and that the offspring occur in the following numbers: 106 AaBb, 48 Aab
Elenna [48]

Answer:

linkage with approximately 33 map units between the two gene loci

Explanation:

If two genes are not linked, number of recombinants and parental offspring will be equal. Here it is clearly visible that recombinants are less than parental offspring hence the genes are linked. Given, the offspring are in following numbers:

AaBb = 106 = Parental

aabb = 94 = Parental

Aabb = 48 = Recombinant

aaBb = 52 = Recombinant

Recombination frequency = (Number of recombinants/ Total progeny) * 100 = (100/300) * 100 = 33.33 %

1% recombination frequency= 1 map unit of distance between the two gene loci. So here the distance between the two gene loci is approximately 33 map units.

Hence, these results are consistent with linkage with approximately 33 map units between the two gene loci
