Well, surely you know what the picture below shows

the perimeter is 2l + 5w

and we know the perimeter is 750\bf 750=2l+5w\implies \cfrac{750-5w}{2}=l
\\\\\\
A(w)=\left( \cfrac{750-5w}{2} \right)w\implies A(w)= \cfrac{750w-5w^2}{2}

now as for the part b)   \bf \cfrac{dA}{dw}=375-5w\implies 0=375-5w\implies 75=w

now.. if you run a first-derivative test on the critical point of 75

say, test hmmm 74.99999 and 75.00001

you'll notice the point is a maximum

Write the series using summation notation. Then find the sum of the series.
ivolga24 [154]

Hello, please consider the following.

\displaystyle 1+2+3+...+12=\sum_{k=1}^{k=12} {k}=\dfrac{12*13}{2}=6*13=78

For the second we will need to put on the same denominator.

\displaystyle \dfrac{1}{2}+\dfrac{1}{4}+...+\dfrac{1}{14}=\sum_{k=1}^{k=7} {\dfrac{1}{2k}}\\\\=\dfrac{1}{2}\dfrac{420+210+140+105+84+70+60}{5*7*3*2*2}\\\\=\dfrac{1}{2}\dfrac{1089}{420}\\\\=\dfrac{1089}{840}=1.296429...

Thank you.

Snezhnost [94]

Answer:

Given that:

Susan spent on supplies = $17.75

Earning of june = 24 * $3.25

Earning of June = $78

1/4 of earning = 1/4 * 78

1/4 of earning = $19.5

So Susan will set $19.5 aside for supplies of next month and remaining amount she will have is : 78 - 19.5 = $58.5
